Covid-19 Policy update June 2020

Hunterdon Dermatology, LLC has experienced the same devastating setbacks as most businesses, individuals and families over the last several months with Covid-19 changing the way we interact socially and professionally.

Since June 2020, we have been available for in-office visits as well as scheduled TeleHealth patient interactions using cell phones, ipads and clinical applications to meet our patient’s needs. The fee for TeleHealth visits will be the regular office charges. This fee is currently reimbursable by most insurances just as an in-office visit would be reimbursed, although we should assume out-of-network issues may apply. The rates are meant to be fair and not create a hardship. We will be on a time-limited basis for TeleHealth and in-office visits. At this time, TeleHealth visits are encouraged more than in-office visits for the health and safety of others based on priority recommendations in the New Jersey Administrative Order 2020-07.

For those patients requiring in person office visits during the Covid-19 restrictions, many changes to our operations will be in place starting  June 2020. As you may have experienced in other offices, all patients will be screened for recent travel, illness, active fever and will be required to wear a mask in the office throughout the visit to Hunterdon Dermatology, LLC. In turn, our staff will be wearing masks, eye protection and gloves during your visit. We will attempt to limit your time spent in the waiting room and focus your time to our exam rooms where masks will continue to be worn by patients and staff. Upon arrival, you may be expected to notify the office of your arrival from the car and remain there until contacted by the office to enter the building. At this point, your temperature will be taken before entering the office.

If you have recently had a temperature greater than 100.0 F, new cough, shortness of breath, hypoxia, sore throat, fatigue, muscle aches, diarrhea or loss of taste or smell, please cancel your in-office visit and schedule a TeleHealth visit.

Please know that we care deeply about you and want to catch up personally but we find it difficult to catch our breath while carrying on conversations with these masks in place. Although your office experience will be substantially different, the care, concern and focused attention from the team will be as expected.
